This is a hollow sphere, originally constructed as an icosahedron (20 sided figure). The sides are made from lemonwood, with bloodwood  strips separating each side. The icosahedron was then turned to a sphere. Then the 12 vertices were inlayed with Pink Ivory and Lemonwood "flowers" surrounded by African Blackwood.
