Panorama Images

The following images are panoramas made by "stitching" together a sequence of images using special stitching software. There are a number of packages available. I use The Panorama Factory and highly recommend it.

Click on an image for a larger picture. Warning...they are large and may take a while to download if you're on a dial-up connection.

Portland waterfront, July 21, 2004, taken from the east side of the Willamette, looking west, during the Red Bull Flügtag. The place was jam packed with people. The ramp, which shows up much better on the full-sized image, is at the far right, just in front of the main crowd.

Portland waterfront, taken from the east side of the Willamette, looking west, during Rose Festival 2004. The fleet, somewhat reduced from years past, is in. Compare this image to those from 2001. It was cloudy all week...no bright blue skies this year.

In August 2003, the cruise ship The World paid a visit to the Portland waterfront (yes...Portland really is a seaport, even though it's 60 miles inland from the ocean). This picture was taken from the east side of the Willamette River, looking west towards the central downtown area.

This is a 3-image composite of Mt. Hood and the Mt. Hood National Forest, taken on Oct 25, 2003 from a service road up in the boonies above the North Clackamas river.

This is the Columbia River, taken from Crown Point, looking north. The river really doesn't curve like is shows on the picture. It's the effect of making the panorama image. This is 180 degree view.

Portland Waterfront, during Rose Festival 2001, looking west into the downtown area between the Hawthorne and Morrison bridges.

Rose Festival 2001, same location as the prior picture, only this time the Rose Festival fleet is in.

Yet another picture of the 2001 Rose Festival fleet. This time between the Morrison and Burnside bridges.  What can I say...the waterfront area is one of my favorite bike rideing areas.

This is a 360 view from our front yard, spring 2001. My first attempt at a panorama...and it shows. If you look hard, you can tell where the seams are.

Well, I thought it was about time to update the front yard pic. This one is from late December 2005, using a different camera than the previous one. It's winter and there are no leaves on the tress, and you can see a bit more of the neighboring houses.  And there are a few changes to the house. New windows, new roof, and replaced the sunroom on the right side with a real roof.
